A harness and leash system can make obedience training, hiking, running and playing with your dog easier on both of you. With the better control you have with a harness, your dog won't be able to pull out (as with a collar) and away from you. Plus, with a correctly fitted harness, unlike a collar, your dog will not tend to choke.
Designed for larger dogs, with 18" to 40"+ girths, some of the Dean & Tyler harnesses may also be converted from a "pull" style to a "no-pull" harness by attaching the leash to the front of your dog's chest instead of his back, causing him to turn towards you when starting to pull.
Dean & Tyler leather harnesses undergo a combination tanning process from century-old tanneries in the Netherlands and UK. First they are tanned with a chrome salt solution to make the leather flexible and more resistant to heat and scratching. Then the leather is vegetable-tanned to make it firmer and more water-resistant.
Over the years, Dean & Tyler leather harnesses will become softer, not weaker and will develop a distressed vintage look. Wax is brushed on the edges of the leashes to prevent fraying, and give the edge a smooth finish. Similarly, all stitching is made of waxed or neoprene thread. With normal usage (no extreme chewing), you may expect your leather to last for at least a decade.
