Originally bred to bait bulls, the friendly and dignified Bulldogs we know today were culled for their cuter characteristics rather than the fierce ones. A delightful wrinkled face and a child-friendly temperament are the hallmarks of the Bulldog. While some can be prone to breathing issues, the little bit of extra care they require is well worth it for the family who desires a loyal, gentle companion.
Bulldog Dog Collars
While bulldogs are sturdy animals, they often have breathing troubles. Therefore a good collar fit is important. Bulldogs do well in a medium wide, flexible collar, fit somewhat loosely as not to restrict the airway. Strong fabric or high quality leather are best for this breed, and he looks great in spiked dog collars and studs. The breed’s average neck size is 18” – 24”.
